  • Early breakfast at hotel and drive to Genekha village.
  • Today your trek will take you through alpine flora and fauna (wonderful variety of birds can be seen).
  • Two hours of gradual uphill walking and then a rest at a huge rock platform.
  • Another two hours of walk reach Gur, an area of yak pastures located just below the main trail.
  • Overnight camp at Gur.

DISTANCE 5KM | 4 HOURS | 550M ASCENT | DESCENT 210| CAMP ALT 3,290M

  • The trek today will take you across ridges and through mountainside meadows.
  • You will have a spectacular view of the Dagala Range, and you will encounter a yak herders camp.
  • Your trek will end near Utsho lake which is known for its golden trout.
  • Camp at Labatamba (4300m).

DISTANCE 12KM | DURATION 5-6 HOURS | 1,220M ASCENT | DESCENT 110 | CAMP ALTITUDE 4,300M

  • This day will be dedicated to relaxing and recuperating at Labatama.
  • It is an ideal to take an excursion to any of three nearby lakes: Reli Tsho, Hen Tsho and Jama Tsho.
  • Hikers are encouraged to take the opportunity to engage in some trout fishing (permits are required beforehand) as the location is ideal.
  • Overnight at Camp.

  • Today your trek starts with a 30 minute climb before descending down the valley.
  • You will get very good views of the Western Himalayan range inside Bhutan.
  • The trek will take you through meadows, lakes and shrubs. Camp at Panka (4000m).

DISTANCE 8KM | DURATION 6-7 HOURS | 260M ASCENT | DESCENT 520 | CAMP ALTITUDE 4,000M

  • Today, you will be crossing several passes, each one more impressive than the other. Different varieties of Blue Poppy (June-July) and mountain birds can be found on the trail.
  • Lunch at the point, where one trail leads to Talakha and other to Wangduephodrang. After lunch, an hour’s gradual climb brings you to the last pass, Tale La (4180m) from where the views of Dagala range and Thimphu Valley is amazing.
  • Start a long descent through forest of spruce, birch, juniper and rhododendrons to Talakha Goempa (3080m).
  • From the Talakha Goempa, you will hike down through mixed vegetation, apple orchards and feeder road to the Village of Chamgang. Your car will be waiting here to transfer you to Thimphu.
