Day 1 | Arrival in Paro and Drive to Thimphu Valley

Paro – Thimphu Valley

  • Arrive in Bhutan at Paro International Airport, where our representative will greet you and guide you throughout your stay.

  • Transfer to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, and check in at your hotel.

  • Explore Thimphu Valley, home to the seat of Bhutan’s Royal Government and the Central Monastic Body.

  • Join locals and elderly residents circumambulating the National Memorial Chorten, one of the most prominent religious landmarks in Thimphu.

  • Try your hand at making traditional Bhutanese paper at Jungshi Paper Factory, using ancient methods.

  • Visit Tashichho Dzong, also known as the “Fortress of the Glorious Religion”, which houses the throne room and offices of His Majesty the King of Bhutan.

  • Enjoy leisure time exploring Thimphu City.

  • Dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 | Drive to Phobjikha Valley

Thimphu – Phobjikha Valley

  • Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before driving towards the majestic Phobjikha Valley.

  • Stop at Dochula Pass to capture breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges.

  • Descend from Dochula Pass and embark on a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to the “Divine Madman”, adorned with symbolic phallic motifs.

  • Lunch at a local restaurant.

  • Continue exploring Phobjikha Valley, the winter home of the endangered Black-necked Crane, one of Bhutan’s most pristine and awe-inspiring landscapes.

  • Dinner at the hotel.

Day 3 | Gangtey Trek – Gangtey Gompa to Gogona

Phobjikha Valley – Gogona Village

  • After breakfast at the hotel, begin your moderate trek from Gangtey Gompa towards Gogona Village.

  • The trek passes through lush meadows and cultivated fields, gradually ascending Tselela Pass (3,440 m). Enjoy a scenic route through mixed forests of juniper, bamboo, rhododendrons, and magnolias.

  • Along the way, encounter local communities and meet people who speak the unique dialect of Bhutanese nomads.

  • Arrive at Gogona, a charming village featuring an outstanding monastery, and set up camp for the night.

  • Dinner around the campfire and overnight in tented camp at Gogona (3,100 m).

  • Distance: 15 km | Duration: 6–7 hours | Ascent: 610 m | Descent: 410 m | Camp Altitude: 3,130 m

Day 4 | Gangtey Trek – Gogona to Khotokha

Gogona Village – Khotokha

  • After breakfast at camp, continue your trek with a gradual climb to Shobe La Pass (3,480 m).

  • Descend into a wide valley offering clear and stunning views of the surrounding mountains and pristine landscapes.

  • Arrive at Khotokha, a peaceful campsite, where you will set up camp for the night.

  • Dinner around the campfire and overnight in tented camp at Khotokha (3,330 m).

  • Distance: 16 km | Duration: 5–7 hours | Ascent: 450 m | Descent: 860 m | Camp Altitude: 3,330 m

Day 5 | Gangtey Trek – Khotokha to Tikke Zampa / Punakha

Khotokha – Tikke Zampa – Punakha

  • After breakfast at camp, begin a short climb to Tashila Pass (2,800 m).

  • Descend gradually, observing the change in vegetation and scenery as you move toward the valley. Reach the road at Tikke Zampa, where our tour vehicle will meet you.

  • Enjoy a scenic 30-minute drive to Punakha.

  • Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay in Punakha.

  • Distance: 12 km | Duration: 4–5 hours | Ascent: 120 m | Descent: 1,340 m

Day 6 | Punakha to Paro Valley

Punakha - Paro Valley

  • After breakfast, drive north along the Mo Chu River and enjoy a picnic breakfast at Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, with stunning bird’s-eye views of the fertile Punakha Valley.

  • Explore the courtyard of Pungthang Dewachen Phodrang – Palace of Great Happiness, the winter residence of Bhutan’s Central Monastic Body.

  • Walk along the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan and cross the Pho Chu River, soaking in the surrounding natural beauty.

  • Lunch at a local restaurant before continuing the drive to the picturesque Paro Valley, one of the widest and most scenic valleys in the Kingdom, dotted with fertile rice fields and crystal-clear rivers.

  • Check in at the hotel and enjoy leisure time in Paro Town. Dinner is served at a local farmhouse, offering a taste of authentic Bhutanese cuisine.

Day 7 | Paro – Tiger’s Nest Hike

Paro Valley

  • After an early breakfast at the hotel, drive to the Tiger’s Nest Base / Parking Lot to begin your hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most iconic pilgrimage site and one of the Kingdom’s most stunning landmarks.

  • Enjoy lunch at the Taktsang Cafeteria overlooking breathtaking views of the valley below.

  • Return to Paro and experience Bhutanese traditional archery, the national sport, in an authentic setting.

  • Relax with a Bhutanese hot stone bath, combining natural minerals with the healing khempa herb, a unique local wellness tradition.

  • Leisure time in Paro Town before dinner at the hotel or a local farmhouse.
