Day 1 | Arrival & Thimphu Valley 

Thimphu Valley

  • Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, meet your representative who will guide you throughout your stay in Bhutan. Transfer to Thimphu, the capital city, and check-in at your hotel.

  • Explore Thimphu Valley, home to the seat of Bhutan’s Royal Government and Central Monastic Body. Join elderly locals as they circumambulate the National Memorial Chorten, one of Thimphu’s most iconic religious landmarks.

  • Marvel at the panoramic views of Thimphu City from Buddha Dordenma, one of the largest sitting Buddha statues in the world. Spend some leisure time exploring the city at your own pace.

  • Dinner at hotel.

Day 2 | Thimphu Valley Exploration

Thimphu Valley

  • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting out to explore more of Thimphu’s fascinating sites. Begin with a short hike along Wangditse Nature Trail, capturing breathtaking views of Thimphu Valley.

  • Observe the unique Takin, Bhutan’s national animal, and visit Zilukha Nunnery to learn about the daily life of the resident nuns.

  • Lunch at Simply Bhutan Restaurant.

  • In the afternoon, discover Bhutanese culture at the Folk Heritage Museum, and try your hand at making traditional paper at Jungshi Paper Factory using ancient Bhutanese methods. Stroll through the Centenary Farmer Market, where fresh local produce is abundant.

  • Visit Tashi Chhoe Dzong, the “Fortress of the Glorious Religion,” which houses the throne room and offices of His Majesty the King of Bhutan. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure in Thimphu City.

  • Dinner at hotel.

Day 3 | Start Trek – Genekha to Gur

Genekha to Gur

  • Enjoy early breakfast at the hotel before driving to Genekha Village, the starting point of your trek.

  • Begin your hike through alpine flora and fauna, where a wonderful variety of birds can be spotted. Trek uphill for about two hours, and take a rest at a large rock platform, soaking in the serene surroundings. Continue walking for another two hours to reach Gur, an area of yak pastures situated just below the main trail.

  • Overnight camp at Gur.

Day 4 | Gur to Labatamba

Gur to Labatamba

  • After breakfast at camp, begin your trek across ridges and mountainside meadows. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of the Dagala Range and encounter a yak herders’ camp, giving you a glimpse into the local nomadic lifestyle.

  • Continue trekking until you reach Utsho Lake, renowned for its golden trout, before making your way to Labatamba for the overnight camp at an altitude of 4,300m.

    DISTANCE: 12 KM | DURATION: 5–6 Hours | ASCENT: 1,220M | DESCENT: 110M | CAMP ALTITUDE: 4,300M

Day 5 | Labatamba Excursion

Labatamba Excursion

  • Today is dedicated to relaxing and recuperating at Labatamba. You may choose to take a short excursion to any of the three nearby lakes: Reli Tsho, Hen Tsho, and Jama Tsho, each offering serene landscapes and peaceful surroundings.

  • For those interested, this is an excellent opportunity to engage in trout fishing (permits required in advance), taking advantage of the lake’s rich waters.

  • Overnight Camp at Labatamba

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 | Labatamba to Panka

Labatamba – Panka Trek

  • After breakfast at camp, begin your trek with a 30-minute climb before gradually descending into the valley. Enjoy stunning views of the Western Himalayan range as you traverse through alpine meadows, serene lakes, and scattered shrubs.

  • Arrive at Panka and set up camp at 4,000m, surrounded by the pristine Himalayan landscape.

  • Overnight Camp at Panka

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
    Distance: 8 km | Duration: 6–7 hours | Ascent: 260 m | Descent: 520 m | Camp Altitude: 4,000 m

Day 7 | Panka to Thimphu via Talakha

Panka – Thimphu Trek

  • After breakfast at camp, start your trek crossing several mountain passes, each offering breathtaking views. During June–July, you may spot the Blue Poppy in bloom and a variety of mountain birds along the trail.

  • Lunch will be served at the junction where one trail leads to Talakha and the other to Wangduephodrang. After lunch, a gradual one-hour climb brings you to Tale La Pass (4,180m), with spectacular panoramas of the Dagala Range and Thimphu Valley.

  • Begin a long descent through forests of spruce, birch, juniper, and rhododendrons, reaching Talakha Goempa (3,080m). Continue downhill through mixed vegetation, apple orchards, and feeder roads to the village of Chamgang, where your vehicle will transfer you to Thimphu.

  • Overnight: Bhutan Peaceful Residency & Spa (3★) or Similar

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
    Distance: 14 km | Duration: 7–8 hours | Ascent: 180 m | Descent: 1,540 m

Day 8 | Paro – Tiger’s Nest Hike

Paro Valley

  • Enjoy early breakfast at the hotel before driving to Tiger’s Nest Base / Parking Lot, the starting point for one of Bhutan’s most iconic pilgrimages.

  • Embark on a hike to Taktsang Monastery, famously known as Tiger’s Nest, perched dramatically on a cliffside. This is one of the most stunning and revered landmarks in Bhutan.

  • Lunch at Taktsang Cafeteria with scenic views of the valley below.

  • Engage in a traditional Bhutanese experience by playing Archery, the national sport of Bhutan.

  • Relax and rejuvenate with a Bhutanese hot stone bath, which combines natural minerals with healing khempa herbs for a unique wellness experience.

  • Dinner at a local farmhouse and overnight stay in Paro.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
    Accommodation: Dewachen Resort (3★) or Similar

Day 9 | Depart Paro

Paro Valley

  • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
