Day 1 | Arrive Paro & Drive to Thimphu Valley

Paro - Thimphu

  • Arrival in Bhutan. Upon landing at Paro International Airport, meet with our representative who will guide you throughout your stay. Transfer to Thimphu, the capital city, and check in to your hotel.

  • Explore Thimphu Valley, home to the seat of Bhutan’s Royal Government and Central Monastic Body. Observe the fascinating Takin, Bhutan’s national animal, and visit the Zilukha Nunnery to learn about the lifestyle of the nuns residing there. Enjoy leisure time in Thimphu City.

  • Overnight: Thimphu

Day 2 | Thimphu Valley Exploration

Thimphu

  • After breakfast at the hotel, explore more of Thimphu Valley today. Start by cherishing the panoramic views of Thimphu City from Buddha Dordenma, one of the largest seated Buddha statues in the world. Visit Jungshi Paper Factory to try your hand at making traditional Bhutanese paper using ancient techniques.

  • Take a walk through the bustling Centenary Farmer Market, where fresh local produce is available. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before appreciating the intricate traditional arts and crafts at the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, which holds deep symbolic meaning to Bhutanese culture.

  • In the afternoon, take a short hike along Wangditse Nature Trail and admire the scenic views of the valley. Spend the rest of the day at leisure in Thimphu City.

  • Overnight: Thimphu

Day 3 | Drive to Punakha Valley

Thimphu - Punakha

  • After an early breakfast at the hotel, drive towards the majestic Punakha Valley, the ancient capital of Bhutan. Enjoy the scenic journey through high mountain passes, terraced fields, and along the riverbanks of Pho Chu and Mo Chu.

  • Stop at Dochula Pass to admire a stunning 360° panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges. Descend from the pass and take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of the ‘Divine Madman’, renowned for its phallic symbols and unique cultural significance.

  • Lunch will be served at a local restaurant before visiting Pungthang Dewachen Phodrang – Palace of Great Happiness, the beautiful fortress and winter residence of Bhutan’s Central Monastic Body. Conclude the day with a walk along the longest suspension bridge across the Pho Chu River.

  • Dinner and overnight stay at Meri Puensum Resort (3)* or similar.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 | Drive to Paro Valley

Punakha - Paro

  • After breakfast, drive north along the Mo Chu River and stop at Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten to enjoy a picnic breakfast and take in the breathtaking bird’s-eye view of the fertile Punakha Valley.

  • Continue your journey towards the Paro Valley via Wangdue and Bajo Town. Paro, one of Bhutan’s most picturesque regions, is a wide valley adorned with fertile rice fields and a crystal-clear river meandering through its landscape.

  • Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Upon arrival in Paro, enjoy some leisure time exploring the town at your own pace.

  • Dinner and overnight stay at Dewachen Resort (3)* or similar.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 | Paro Festival

Paro

  • After breakfast at the hotel, immerse yourself in the vibrant Paro Tshechu, one of Bhutan’s most celebrated festivals. Witness traditional mask dances performed inside the Dzong courtyard, followed by cultural performances held in the outer courtyard in the later part of the day.

  • Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue to enjoy the festival, experiencing the rich traditions and colorful pageantry of Bhutanese culture.

  • Spend some leisure time exploring Paro Town at your own pace.

  • Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight stay at Dewachen Resort (3)* or similar.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 | Paro - Tiger's Nest Hike 

Paro

  • After an early breakfast at the hotel, drive to the Tiger’s Nest Base/ Parking Lot. Embark on a hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most iconic pilgrimage site, perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley.

  • Enjoy lunch at the Taktsang Cafeteria before visiting Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, originally built in the 7th century.

  • In the afternoon, indulge in the traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath, enriched with minerals and the healing khempa herb, offering a unique wellness experience.

  • Spend some leisure time exploring Paro Town at your own pace.

  • Overnight stay at Dewachen Resort (3)* or similar.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7 | Depart Paro

Paro

  • After breakfast at the hotel, our representative will transfer you to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. We hope you take with you the memories of Bhutan’s breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality.
